I am the founder and director of Lugdunum and a passionate numismatist.
From my studies in history and archeology, I hold a doctorate and am an expert on issues relating to ancient coin circulation. As a cataloguer and later director, I was in the service of international auction houses in Switzerland and abroad.
Numismatics has been my profession for over 10 years. During this time, I developed the service Ex-Numis, which uses facial recognition techniques to trace the run of ancient coins through past auctions from 1880 onwards.
Through my work as General Secretary of the association of Swiss Professional Numismatists VSBN and former Treasurer of the Association of International Professional Numismatists IAPN, I am very well connected.

Master’s degree in finance, graduate of the School of Economics and auditor with a passion for numismatics.
As an expert in digitisation, I was involved in the development of the Ex-Numis provenance research service.

Since 2020 part of the team and responsible for all office work, I will take your call.
I have long been fascinated by European history and the past. Numismatics holds new, exciting connections for me every day. I really enjoy that and I’m always surprised at what’s behind a coin or a medal.
We do speak English, French, German and Swiss German.
LUGDUNUM Numismatics has been founded in 2012 to offer various numismatic services such as purchase and sale of coins and theirs professional cataloguing.
Why LUGDUNUM?
LUGDUNUM was the name of what is called LYON in France today. The city was considered the most important Roman mind north of the Alps on the first century AD and was the main topic of Dr Flueck's doctorate.

In 2013 the first online auction «The Lugdunum Sale 1» premiered. 12 further auctions followed until 2015.

In 2018 we moved to the charming city of Solothurn and reopened our numismatic activities by another auction «The Lugdunum Sale 14».
On the occasion of the 2000 years celebrations of the city of Solothurn, LUGDUNUM organized the special exhibition «Minted Pride» in cooperation with the Museum Blumenstein.
On show were coins, coming from a private collection, illustrating 7 centuries of Solothurn's numismatic history. Afterwards, these coins were successfully auctioned off in March 2020 in the «The Lugdunum Sale 19».
In spring, LUGDUNUM received a small group of outstanding medals from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance for sale. Among them was «La Calaisienne», a large silver medal from Charles VII, dating from 1455 and celebrating the end of the 100 Years' War. This medal was sold for CHF 340'000 and became the most expensive French medal ever sold in an auction to date.
The International Association of Professional Numismatists IAPN is the most renowned association of professionals worldwide. It is a great honour for us having been accepted by the committee and having joined this notable association in October as a company member.
In 2022, Lugdunum receives an extensive collection for auction. It is the life's work of a lover of art and history with an eye for Swiss quality and is named the «Vaterland Collection». During a two-day auction, this unique collection is successfully sold. Buyers and collectors describe the «Vaterland Collection» as one of the finest collections of Swiss cantonal coins to come onto the market in recent years.
Our auction included Ancient coins with documented provenance, Swiss coins & medals incl. beautiful cantonal Gold coins, small coins of the cantons of Basel & Solothurn and Gold coins from around the world.
On 12th December, a beautiful collection of medals has been auctioned. «The Wisdom Collection» was the name we have chosen for this beautiful collection of Italian, French and German Renaissance medals of a Gentleman & Art Connoisseur. Not less than 15 years have passed since such an important collection of Renaissance medals appeared on the market. This auction can therefore be considered as a very rare opportunity.
On 9th December 2025, a small but fine selection of Ancient coins, various Swiss coins and medals, and Gold coins from around the world in the best quality will be auctioned. A rare and complete collection of Chinese Gold Pandas (1982–2007) forms the core of the overseas coins and an original drawing by the famous Geneva medallist Antoine Bovy (1795–1877), showing an unpublished model for the first Swiss 20-Francs Gold coin of 1871, will find a new home.
Since January 2026, Dr Jonas Emmanuel Flueck is a recognised expert at the IBSCC, the International Bureau for the Suppression of Counterfeit Coins, part of the IAPN based in the USA. Since members of the IAPN guarantee the authenticity of all of the coins they sell, the most important task of the IBSCC is to detect any new fakes appearing in order to prevent their circulation on the numismatic market.
