At the very centre of this small but fine selection of ancient coins was a collection of Greek coins that was carefully assembled by a Swiss collector between 1970 and 2000. The good style of the coins and the presence of documented provenances
made this collection particularly interesting.

Switzerland was also well represented with three interesting groups of coins, focussing on the early coinage of the diocese of Basel, coins & medals of Solothurn and the gold coinage of the Republic of Bern, among which some coins could be described as cabinet pieces.
